Next up was stripping the interior of the 6.9.
Lots of charred headliner, dirt, and still damp flooring.
The long-wheelbase W116's sure have a lot of room in the back seat...
The 6.9's had different carpeting, seat belts, different leather and front seats, as well as different wood on the
dash. Wood was also on the center console, climate control, and ashtray. Everything was pulled for evaluation
at a later date.
Beginning to expose some of the melted bits from under the dash and carpeting.
Melted hoses and tubing behind the gauge cluster.
Some melted ducting was also behind the glovebox.
Complete removal of the dash. There was some blistering of the otherwise perfect dash near the base of the
windshield, so it will have to be repaired before swapping it with the dash of the 450.
Blower motor removed... most bits in the center console were not salvageable.
The melted bits behind the center console.
Getting ready to pull the steering column and shifter.
